Bob Sauve was a great goalie who played for the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and the New Jersey Devils.  I always liked him when he was with the Sabres.  He won a Jennings Trophy while there too.  Great addition to my collection.

Medigas Celebrity Classic IP

Matt Duchene.  The superstar for the Colorado Avalanche was in town!  He wouldn't sign numbers.  He did sign jerseys though.  I had this 8x10 and a puck, and he signed both!  This kid is going to have a great career.

Rene Robert signed puck.  Somehow, I didn't have a single card of his.  I have over 80,000 cards.  How the heck can this be possible?  Anyway, I took along some plain pucks in case there was anyone there that I didn't have anything for.
Gilbert Perreault.  I had heard that he hasn't been so kind to TTMers.  He wasn't overjoyed, but he signed for everyone.  I got him on this McFarlane base to add to my collection.

Stephane Richer, Rick Martin and Andre Savard.

Shawn Matthias and Matt Beleskey.

NHL Oldtimer's Hockey Challenge IP

The Oldtimer's Hockey Challenege tour came through Kingston, Ontario this past week.  I go to this event nearly every year to get some autographs of NHL legends.  This is by far the best NHL Alumni tour that is around.  Their website is www.oldtimershockey.com.  Check their site for a schedule.

Here is what I got:

I got Steve Shutt to sign my McFarlane base.  His "free" signature is pretty crappy compared to the signature he uses on certified autographs.  I am not selling it though, so no big deal.
I got Rick Vaive on this Sabres card.  I got him at another alumni event last month.
I got Craig Simpson on these 2 cards.  He was great.  Chatted with the fans and made a talked a bit about Battle of the Blades.
I got Dave Ellett on this card as well.
Former olympian, Lori Dupuis was part of the roster as well.  She was a member of the 2002 Gold Medal team and the 1998 Silver Medal team.  She was great with the fans and signed for everyone.
Billy Smith pulled up in his car to get Steve Shutt.  I was one of the only people that recognized him so I got him to sign my 8x10.

Craig Rivet Signing

I mentioned earlier that I got the Sabres at the Senators game. Well, I have been collecting Craig Rivet since he was with the Kingston Frontenacs back in 1992. I did get an in person auto from him at a game. I mailed him once he had some Canadiens cards and he sent them back quickly. I purchased a "game used" stick on ebay in 2001. It was from a guy in Philadelphia that stated that Craig gave it to him after a game down there. I have been hoping to get it signed at some point in Montreal. I guess the opportunity never arose and before I knew it, he was traded to San Jose. The Sharks don't venture to the North East very often, so I thought I was doomed. Then, he signed with the Sabres in the off season. So, going up to get the Sabres, I thought this might be the chance. Craig was more than happy to sign my stick, and I asked him if he could verify its authenticity. He did and said that he used that stick in one of his first seasons with the Montreal Canadiens!!! He signed one of the best autographs I have ever gotten on the blade and signed a puck for me. He also signed 8x10s for my buddies that were with me. For a lifelong fan of him, it was awesome to have this stick signed, but to actually get to talk with him for a few minutes. Craig is definitely a true class act. Here is the pic of the stick and puck.

Buffalo Sabres in Person

We were able to get the Sabres at the Sens game. These 4 guys I had never got before. Andrew Peters, Derek Roy, James Patrick, and Maxim Afinogenov. Great group of guys.
